Hats off to Brighton Business Expo for a great event!

We had a great time at Brighton Business Expo on 3rd October 2019!

The conference hall at Brighton Business Expo

Organised by B2B Expos, the expo is the biggest business networking show in Brighton. B2B Expos (meaning business to business) host business exhibitions across the UK to open opportunities for existing enterprises to grow, network and make connections with other local companies.

The Brighton Business Expo was held at Brighton Racecourse and offered a packed schedule. As well as plenty of opportunities to meet other business representatives, there were also informative seminars and speakers throughout the day. Eager to learn, we took full advantage of what was on offer.

As the day progressed, speakers talked about a range of topics including mental health in the workplace, SEO and leadership to name a few. A highlight of the day was an invigorating keynote from Sally Gunnell OBE, track and field Olympian (pictured below), about how to emotionally perform at a high level. Drawing on her experience as a top athlete, Sally spoke about the methods she used to execute in high pressure situations. A position we all find ourselves in from time to time.

Another highlight was the talk by Kerry Watkins of Social Brighton about social media strategies. Social Brighton is a team of social media specialists who consult businesses with social media marketing. Kerry gave some sound advice during her talk about building successful social media strategies. The point which stood out to us the most was the importance of delivering content that is conversational, relatable and personable in order to achieve great results!

The expo also gave us the opportunity to mingle with other local businesses. The most memorable part of the day was the (very fun!) speed networking session led by Amy Lisham of Brighton Chamber. It was a great way to meet other business representatives in a short time, ensuring conversation was direct and concise. Through this quickfire meet and greet we talked with many new businesses.

All in all, the expo was a great networking event and we had really interesting conversations with several companies. Special shout outs to:

  • Aideen Smith-Watson of Life Blueprint. Life Blueprint is a company aimed at helping your business to better balance employee wellbeing, morale and engagement with meeting targets. We would recommend speaking directly with her and her staff about mindfulness in the workplace and the importance of stress management to help boost positivity in your business.
  • Mi Elfverson of The Vlog Academy. Mi is an expert when it comes to all things video. As video becomes more popular in the digital market, vlogging could be the step forward for your company. Whether you are just starting out on your marketing journey or you have well-established strategies in place, you are sure to learn something new over on her blog.
  • Sam Thomas of Firmballs. The only provider of football, golf and pool leagues exclusively for professionals. We think this sounds like an exciting alternative to traditional networking events. Sam explained to us the benefits sport-focused networking has in developing long-term relationships with other business owners and decision makers.

We’re always on the lookout to make contact and support businesses in the area. Call 01825 703300 or email contact@youbiquity.online for a chat to discuss how we may be able to help you spread your business messages online.
